February 18, 2021

REVERE, Mass. —

A community health van is bringing COVID-19 testing to people living and working in Massachusetts communities hardest hit by the pandemic.

On Wednesday, the van was in Revere, offering free tests.

The mobile site has been performing approximately 300 tests a week.

“We chose our location every week based on hotspots that are identified using data from wastewater surveillance, information we get from various housing complexes, schools, things like that,” Gupta said.

The initiative is a partnership between Mass General Brigham and DPV Transportation of Everett.

The goal is to have five vans to conduct testing and eventually transition to distributing vaccines.

No identification is required to be tested and results come back in 24 to 48 hours. no id is required.

“I live right here, and last week I saw they were starting to do this, and I was like really excited,” Revere resident Luciane Horcel said.
